Course Overview:
The Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS UK) National Pool Lifeguard Trainer Assessor Course (RLSS UK TA) is the next step for RLSS NPLQ Lifeguards, this is a Train the trainer course and will enable you to deliver the NPLQ syllabus to new candidates.
good vision and hearing, be mentally alert and self-disciplined. The course requires 100% attendance. The course will be delivered using a variety of methods including:
● PowerPoint Presentations
● Flip Chart Exercises
● Guided Group Discussions and Activities
● Practical Demonstrations and Training
You will be expected to deliver a presentation and assess other candidates throughout the course.
Every candidate attending a Trainer Assessor course must be:
Integrated Qualifications:
Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
The Pool Extraction Board (PXB).
Equipment Required:
You are required to bring the following items to the course:
● Photographic Identification (must be shown to the trainer on the first day of the course)
● Swimming costume
● Towel
● Shorts and t-shirt to be worn in the water
● Pen / pencil
Some training days may include water work on more than one occasion and candidates may prefer to bring two
sets of towels, shorts and t-shirts.
Course Dates:
29th, 30th, 31st of January 2027
6th and 7th February 2027
Course Times:
0800-1800 each day.
100% Attendance is required throughout the course.
Course Assessment:
The course syllabus and practical skills are continually assessed by the course trainer and a suitable level
competence must be achieved.

Places on our courses are limited and we operate on a first come first served basis. If a place is not available after booking and payment we will offer you an alternative course or a full refund.
From time to time courses may be cancelled if we do not fill enough places, if this happens we will notify you at the earliest opportunity & you will be given the option to transfer to another course at a later date or receive a full refund. We do not issue refunds if you change your mind after booking or decide to leave the course once it has started.
